DJ Lobster started making beats on a cracked version of FL Studio in 2014 and soon developed a serious addiction to sampling and programming fat bass lines.
Digging on the internet for new music, he soon discovered the Chicago Footwork scene around DJ Rashad, as well as Ghettotech, and developed a musical style somewhere between 2000’s R’n’B, Trap, Juke and Jersey Club.
After contributing to District 160’s „Breathe“ compilation and Footwork Discord’s Summer Compilation, he’s now releasing his first single „Virgo Vibes“ – a 160 BPM dance track embracing the mythology of this zodiac sign’s desire to love, connect and attract. Over the hard hitting 808s, the vocals sampled from underground R’n’B singer Miya Guggs‘ „Vibes“ flavor the fast-paced beat with a deep sensibility, adding to energetic drum breaks.
After all, we just want to fucking VIBE.

Breathe is a compilation dedicated to change. Juke Nukem and Andrew DIFF, owners of District160, have deep roots in the communities who were hurt by these recent unfortunate events and felt the need to lend a helping hand. We want to help the movement and we want change to happen so District160 decided to create a 160bpm compilation featuring artists from around the globe who share our vision for change and justice.
All proceeds go to Juxtaposition Arts, a teen-staffed art and design center, gallery, retail shop, and artists’ studio space in North Minneapolis.
